Recently, the Greek Parliament voted to approve the VAT Law Bill. In response to criticism from opposition parties, Greece's Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Dimaras, stated that the bill merely codifies existing VAT legislation without introducing new provisions.
The Ministry of Finance plans to submit a new tax bill to Parliament, promising significant tax reductions to ease taxpayers' burdens. Proposed measures include further reductions in property tax (ENFIA), the abolition of the self-employed business tax and vacant property tax, and an extension of the VAT suspension period on property transfers.
