On Feb. 13, 2009, Mr. Tryputen Sergii, the project manager in China of International Finance Corporation (IFC), came to Tahota Law Firm with his assistant to attend a meeting with Tahota senior partners and lawyers like Jing Liu, Bing Liu, Hong NI, Jianhong Yang, Guolin Deng and Qianhong Tang.

IFC is a private sector organization under World Bank group. It is also a global investment organization and advisory body with the aim of promoting developing member countries’ sustainability projects so that they are economically profitable, financially and commercially stable and environmentally and socially sustainable. Ever since 1986, IFC has invested over 4 billion dollars in more than 160 projects in China. IFC began its enterprise management project in China in June 2008. This project will last till the future 3 or 5 years later. It is meant to help private enterprises in China improve their corporation management and increase financing success rate. It also offers some proper enterprises financing help.

As the local corporation management expert affirmed by IFC, Tahota Law Firm will begin close cooperation with IFC and will work together to develop corporation management solutions, promote advanced corporation management plans and provide legal service, staff training and resource sharing. Mr. Sergii introduced the detailed contents of the IFC corporation management project to Tahota Law Firm. The two sides signed the memorandum of understanding. He also granted Tahota partners Jing Liu and Bing Liu with “Certificate of Corporation Management Methodology Expert”. During the meeting, both sides reached agreements on corporation managing trend, cooperation prospects and other aspects. They also made the specific cooperation plan for the next step.

In recent years, Tahota Law Firm has been devoted to developing company commerce and international business and has made great achievements. A company commerce department and an international business department have been established and they are directed by senior partners of Tahota. Tahota has also hired a great number of international-oriented talents. Nearly 30 lawyers here work in two languages. Tahota has also signed cooperation agreement with Woo Kwan Lee & Lo Law Firm in Hong Kong and has sent some lawyers to work in Hong Kong to learn the advanced experience in international business and company commerce. Tahota is planning to set up a branch in Hong Kong to better develop its international business. It is believed that the cooperation between Tahota and IFC will greatly help Tahota become a leading local legal service center that serves local enterprises well and leads the way in bringing in foreign experience.
