Personal profile

  • Dr Shengnan Jia specialises in commercial law and commercial maritime law, and in particular in the areas of asset transfer and equity interest management, certificate of deposit, banker’s acceptance bill and guarantee, multimodal transport, international trade and charterparties. In her practice, she has disposed of many important and complex litigation cases in the Supreme People’s Court of P.R. of China (SPC) and Higher Courts of different provinces. Some cases have been chosen as the leading cases reported by the SPC. She was also invited to be a Chinese expert witness to submit an Expert Report to LCIA.

    Dr Jia has sufficient knowledge of European legal culture and legal history. She has organised and hosted some international commercial law and maritime law conferences in London since 2016 and meanwhile has been invited to attend many international conferences in Europe since 2015.

    In addition, she founded China-Europe Commercial Collaboration Association (non-profit organization) aiming to promote communication between trade and shipping, between academics and professionals, and more importantly between Europe and China.
